I DO NOT DRINK

I do not drink for I am
to young to die.
I sit and watch as drunken teenagers laugh and act witless.
I know many of them well
later attempt to drive home
I do not know how many of them will make it.
I do not drink for I am
to young to die.
I watch helplessly as they get
into their cars to go home I
plead for them to stay.
They decline and dirve away
while I am left feeling depressed knowing what could happen.
I do not drink for I am
to young to die.
As I drive along the highway
on my way home I see headlights
and hear the crunching of metal.
I have been hit by a drunk driver.
I do not drink for I am
to young to die, for I am DEAD.
