Under the lonely bloodshot sun
Tainted with decay
Lies a tattered hilltop
Where a battle raged
The bodies strewn about the field
Bare no life at all
Their foes? They were defeated
Their enemies were mauled
Carrion birds plague the sky
And dogs disgrace the land
Feeding off the corpses
Eating blood and flesh of man
Behold the horrid battlefield
The gruesome foul sight
Where soldiers had taken up their arms
And riders once took flight
