A Dream by the Sea

Listening to the winds pass softly by.
I look into the blue-green sea.
I wonder what could slumber there.
Oh I wonder what it could be.

Perhaps a great great giant.
Or merely a small strange thing.
But one thing I can be sure of.
Is that it is greater than me.

For is it not more incredible.
To be unknown and mysterious.
Rather than to be normal and unseen.
In all these crowds of people.

Wandering around day by day.
On the hard flat land.
Wondering if I someday may.
Float away from the sand.

Oh how wonderful it would be.
To swim with my brethren every morning.
And hunt oh so patiently.
In the dull dark depths of the sea.

But nay here I must stay.
On the grainy beach.
Listening to the secrets from the winds.
That may blow my way.

Yes what a life it must be.
To exists under those blue-green waves.
Those waves that torment me.
Those waves of the sea.
