In the Dark I Hide

I’ve got a secret
Something you won’t soon forget
As spoken before by a girl once by your side,
“I am the lie living for you, so you can hide.”
When you love someone, you risk it all
I reached for you while you let me fall
My walls are crashing down around me
The agony is so fierce I cannot see
I can only hear the gentle rain
I’m blinded by my silent pain
You want someone to hurt like when you were torn apart
When you gently caressed me, was it truly from your heart?
When will I wake from this dream?
I’m standing in front of you! Can’t you hear me scream??!
Your demons find me falling astray
I open my tearful eyes and you’ve faded away
“Just Breathe”, I whisper to me
I let my hair down for all to see
Back on two feet, I hold my own
Now it’s my turn to cast the first stone
This has been painful and long
I will show you how you were wrong
I’m over you, but revenge I seek
On your life, havoc I will reek.
