There are times I watch the surise
Close my eyes and say
I wish I could be old and wise
Someday I'll open my heart and eyes
Someday I will look to the skies
But it all takes patience
And once upon a time
My open eyes and heart will cry
And say, you were always old and wise
Patience made you this way
And then my eyes will close and say
Someday, I'll see the way I made
Myself patient and old and wise.
