The happiest years in my life
Are sadly in the past
The saddest years in my life
Are finally gone at last

The halls I spent most of my years in
Are now only in my memories
Along with the friends I made and lost
And all my loves and enemies

These years weren't for the best
They almost led me to my end
But when I was in my darkest time
I knew I'd still have a friend

Our happiest years are our saddest
Our saddest years are our best
These are the years that try our strength
That put us to the test

Although I didn't always enjoy myself
I always worked hard and tried
So I thank you for guiding me straight
Good old Crimson Tide
