When Death Comes

death beats upon my door.
wind screaming as never before
the moon the color of blood as the clouds cover all.
Eyes burning bright as a wolf draws near.
death beats upon my door
I shed not a tear.
Wings flapping their endless music the sounds of the night drawing near.
Death creeping upon my grounds searching forever the house around.
creeping this death oh so sly.
now the open window it does try
stealthfully encrouching within my home,
entering so easily my last safe place to roam.
around the corner and down the hall,
tracing its path against the wall.
slow and steady it makes its way.
slowly so slowly i hear it say.
I run, I hide, i dare not breathe.
It searches for me i know not where.
slow and steady it keeps its pace.
I try to hide fear on my face.
I curl into a ball and close my eyes and slowly i feel my body rise.
my eyes now open and fear not around.
and at a glance my eyes in amazement notice..
my body laying so peacefully on the ground.
