Something More

When I wake up in the morning light
And the rain's beating down my door
The other side of the bed is empty
Leaving me longing for something more

When the noonday sun pushes clouds from the sky
And the world is a beautiful place to be
I close my eyes and see your face
Smiling back at me
And I move through each day with the knowing
That you'll be here with me in time
And I know that my love is showing
In the smile on this face of mine

When daylight fades with the evening sun
And shadows fall across my floor
I close my eyes and imagine you here
By my side forever more
And I lie in bed imagining
The feel of your skin next to mine
The taste of your lips, the fire in your touch
That awakens this love inside

When I lie awake beneath the moon
And stare at the stars up high
I know that you're out there somewhere
Seeing the same night sky
And my eyes finally close and I dream of you
In my arms forever more

Then I wake up in the morning light
And the rain's beating down my door
And the other side of the bed is empty
Leaving me longing for something more.
