Shed a tear,
For whose bodies have been blanketed,
And for those whose eyes are blinded by a veil of hate.
Shed a tear,
For a mother who sits in a candle it room,
Staring at a photo of her son, MIA.
Shed a tear,
For that father whose son's blood was spilt
On a land far away from home, some price to pay for freedom.
Shed a tear,
For a man writing to his wife that the worst is over,
But the letter will never get there, suicide bomber determined his destiny.
Shed a tear,
For the broken limbs, maimed bodies and the dead brought home
Amidst the beatings of drums
Shed a tea,
For a child who looks in her mom’s eyes and askes
“When is Dad coming home?”
Shed a tear,
For the unspoken kind words never spoken to a loved one
A flag now drapes his casket to honor another soul lost
In the midst of chaos and a war -stricken world
I will be that voice of restoration, behind every imagination
Crying out “enough”
Shed a tear….
