Christmas is a holiday for fun and good cheer
It comes around every year
It’s a time for family and friends
With love so strong it never ends
Everyone has a big dinner with lots of food
So have the holiday cheer and be in a good mood
Everyone buys lots of gifts for people they know
Children stay up late and listen for Santa’s ho, ho, ho
They’re listening for bells while around they sneak
Looking out doors and windows hoping to get a peak
Mommy and Daddy make them go to bed
But they just close their eyes and lay down there little heads
Hoping and wondering if Santa will come by
Hoping that they little ones will get to say hi
We celebrate Christmas for Christ’s rebirth
How much pain was his death worth
He sacrificed his life for you and me
Why can’t any of these people see
They talk to him when they have problems and things on their minds
Why can’t you give him a break he might be behind
Just because he doesn’t answer your prayer doesn’t mean he isn’t there
Because we all know that Christ does care
Christmas is the joy and happiness and thought
Not about all the gifts and presents that are bought
Why can’t we explain this to the little ones
When all they want to do is open presents and be done
Let them know that joy of life
And maybe it will spare Christ some strife
Christmas is a holiday with family and friends
Only to mourn the death of Christ until the end
