He tried so hard to show the pain
But no-one seemed to care
His screams were all subliminal
His pain he couldn't share

He stopped looking for love
He felt there was nothing to gain
He became consumed by shadows
& that is where he remained

The hurt he felt was unbearable
He had trouble showing his face
He became trapped in anguish
He believed that was his place

He barely spoke to anyone
Some forgot the sound of his voice
He longed to tell of his angst
But in this matter he had no choice

To release all the emotion
Is the one thing he would crave
He had no-one to vent his hurt to
He took it to his grave
