Ballad of the Mermaid

She looks aout with sorrow filled eyes.
In comes the rolling tide.
It is the same the fisher men ride.
They come to their land that is far and wide.
It is the love she hold for a fisher man she could not hide.
This love for a fisher man her fother would not abide.
So did her father order he should die.
So in those deep blue depths he did die.
For his love for his sea maiden he would not denie.
So she watches from a rock not so high.
AS the tide washes his body against that land which is far and wide.
So she goes with the rolling tide.
