Destination Of A Sinking Ship

The sea craft pierced by **Nereus’ ire,
Sinking to earth’s core of fire.
Some doomed beings from within
Kill themselves, slash their skin.
The watery depths stealing their fate.
Seeing others suffer and asphyxiate.
Drowning in water, the worst of their fears,
Not from the sea, but from their tears.
They never reached their destination,
Watching their hopelessness in aggrivation.
Wishing I could aid their weeping,
As their last breath they struggle keeping.
These disturbing visions in my head;
Two thousand three hundred, all now dead.

**Nereus - A sea god, son of Oceanus and Gaea and father of the Nereids**
