because it was a heart shaped bruise on my cheek
It was my fault I remember
you made me believe I was weak

I knew it was ok when you hurt me
because after all the yelling
Our love was still there
and I was still a human being

I felt it was ok when you slowly killed me
because the words didn't cause pain
Only the pushes and shoves did
but you said I shouldn't have been vain

It was ok you hit me to hard that one time
I'm sure when you buried me
your heart did brake
