Drifting Feathers

The wings of an angel beat slowly up and down,
Pumping flight with a steady beat and dance.
Soft, downy feathers fall behind her into the sky,
drifting upon sweet, soft currents of misty air.
Slowly tears begin to fall from her soft cheeks,
Regrets her only company in the deep night,
She watches as the ground nears beneath her,
Torn wings failing to support her leaden weight,
Slowly, silently, she falls to the dark sea,
Waves crashing and rolling against the rocky coast below,
She falls into the waves, still in silence,
Feathers drift slowly amoung the water,
Despairing amoungst the depths of the waves,
Memories and tears wash away in the dark of the ocean.
