Come, Sweet Love

All these years of pain and weeping,
Standing in the rain, looking for the sun,
Praying my heart would find a love worth keeping,
Here you are; are you the one?

Feeling unworthy, in the crowd all alone,
Shivering from the cold of some unobtainable ideal,
Reaching up blindly through a darkened sky,
Wanting to touch, but unable to feel,

Come, sweet love, and hold me to your breast,
Be all that I’ve hoped for but never could find,
Renew my lost faith in a fairytale love,
Be the ending, the eternity, I see in my mind.
