A Lonely Raft Upon The Sea

You say you want to give things time.
But, how do you give time to something unexistent?
Love isn't love when it's one-sided.
Open hearts fall in love...
Not open eyes staring at hearts.
You are chained to things of this Earth,
A mere wanderer of a gloomy swamp.
Pulled in and captured by quicksand,
Also known as money, gossip, comfort.
I thought I found your heart one day...
But, I came to know it was just mine,
Thrown and trampled on the ground.
Never again will it love again
For nothing can float with too many cracks.
I hope you can keep your hope whole.
As the saying goes, "Hope floats."
