The Truth Lies

She opens up her eyes again
To welcome in the thoughtless day
And look out her frosted window
Every morning is this way
She carefully throws on clothes
Chosen the dark night before
Takes one look in the mirror
And falls to the floor

The truth never lies
And no matter what she does
No can escape her eyes
And the empty look inside

She closes the door behind her
And assures herself nothings wrong
Leans her head back to cry
And turns up the radio to the same sad song
She starts up the car
And goes to work where she will try
To cover who she is
And try her best not to cry

The truth never lies
And no matter what she does
No one can escape her eyes
And the emptiness inside

She pulls into her driveway
Back home to her empty house
Through the back door unnoticed
Quiet as the smallest mouse
If she just pretends
No one will notice her
She eats her dinner all alone
Turns on the TV and just reads the paper

The truth never lies
And no matter what she does
No one can escape her eyes
And the emptiness inside

She pulls up the covers
And lays down her head
She closes her eyes on her life
And makes a getaway out of her life
She prays to God
That one day she will be
Able to look in the mirror
And the truth is what she sees

The truth never lies
And no matter what she does
No on can escape her eyes
And the emptiness inside
