Dark eyed Mermaid

I was once a free spirit.
Free with the crashing waves.
Beautiful like the sun setting in the sweet waters of the ocean.
Free like the delicious sweet salty breeze felt on those golden sands.
I saw you there.
Dancing in the light of the moon.
I rose form these waters.
Sold my soul.
Sold for these legs.
They would carry me to you.
I was fateful.
Treated me like an ignorant beast.
A beautiful jewel.
Kept in a box.
I obliged you.
Always your fateful confidante.
Yet you never knew it was I.
The one who while you lost the breath of life.
Breathed it right back into your soul.
Gave up my all.
To have it betrayed for that.
Pure loving beautiful whore.
I am just as royal as that slip of a girl.
You couldn't even tell it was mine own hand that saved you.
Gave me a dagger did they to have my soul return with them to the sea.
I kissed your brow.
I thought I wouldn't do it.
But as your blood pooled around my feet and I watched the fear slash itself
through her eyes I laughed.
On her ride home the sea would claim her.
So it was written that I took mercy on you.
While I laugh freely.
Beneath the beautiful blue depths.
Singing each night.
Harking fools to drown needlessly to feed the bitterness of my soul waters.
I still rise from these waters to morn sweet love.
Do I regret?
Never.
For I am a empty soul.
The dark eyed mermaid.
