Forgot To Pray

I woke up this morning to start my day,
So much to accomplish, that I forgot to pray
Threw the covers off and head for the shower,
I never stop for a moment to thank him this hour.

I reached for the freshly brewed coffee I made,
Head for the door to begin my day
A still small voice spoke in a whisper so sweet
How could you forget who healed you complete?

Don’t neglect to hear my tender voice
I speak to you even through the rushing noise
Listen and you will hear me calling your name
I am the same yesterday, today and ever remain

The alpha, the omega beginning and end,
And my Holy Spirit upon you I will send
Who do you think woke you up this morning?
and protected you while you slept uncaring

By now the tears begin to fall from my eyes
"How could I be blinded by Satan lies"?
The tugging in my heart became overwhelming
as his Holy Spirit minister to me that morning

I swiftly pulled over and begin to pray,
thanking him for such a beautiful day
I thank him for being in control of my life,
Loving me even when I am full of strife

I thank him for trials for they make me stronger,
to endure it to the end a little bit longer,
I thank him for my home, car and family
Remembering the price He paid on Mt. Calvary

How I poured out of me thanksgiving of Praise,
oblivious of my surroundings of curious stares.
Words cannot express how much He means to me
I'll forever lift my voice, giving all the praise to thee

Lord, now I pray for travelling mercies,
As I continue on my way of uncertainties.
I promised that I will never forget to pray,
Before I leave my house to start my day
