I waited for a kiss in supressed delight,
under the Rose-Petal Moon.
My heart fluttered faintly and then took flight,
away to the Rose-Petal Moon.
My cheeks were flushed in the drifting cold,
the shade of the Rose-Petal Moon.
I melted into a pool of charmed liquid gold,
reflecting the Rose-Petal Moon.
The kiss did not come, I was hurt and afraid,
wounded like the Rose-Petal Moon.
The hope I held tightly was about to fade,
like the clouds over the Rose-Petal Moon.
I floated alone among the twinkling lights,
lonely like the Rose-Petal Moon.
I soon became tired and bitter, like the night,
surrounding the Rose-Petal Moon.
My heart is broken, one half has run free,
unbound like the Rose-Petal Moon.
Oh how I wish he would bring it back to me,
to become whole under the Rose-Petal Moon.
