Box/Slip Away

I hide my tears in a box
under my pillow every night.
As I sleep and drift off
to a world of wonderous sights
The pain and the worries just all slip away,
Until I wake up the next morning
on the brink of a new day.
Everthing floods back,
and your face disappears,
and once again I am taken over by all my fears.
I'd throw away the box, but then everyone would see...
how unstable I am-
how weak I can be.
When you're around I feel stronger,
like I can hold on a little longer.
So wait till the end of the day
and the sun slips away
So I can return to my perfect world
where I can see my daddy,
and once again be his little girl.
