Over the years, through all the tears-
you always came back and swept away all my fears.
Whenever I needed a shoulder to cry on,
or a backbone for support,
when my heart was broken,
you mended every part.
I wish I could show you how thankful I am,
all of this gratitude and appreciation-
I'd tie it all up in a bow
and multiply it's elation,
praying for it to somehow reach the destination.
You were my angel sent from above,
bestowed on me all of heaven's love.
I wish you were still here with me to hold,
but I guess that wish is just a little too bold.
I miss my friend, my love, my life,
I think about it and wonder
How can this be right?
You were taken so quickly...
and without warning...
you slipped away,
and left me mourning.
Three bullets through the heart-
I felt them times ten.
I wish I had been there-
that it had been me taking them.
You always said you'd die for me...
I never took those words so literally.
But I know that your soul is happy and free,
and when I look at the stars,
I know you can see me.
Our love will go on,
singing your sweet songs in my heart,
never missing a beat,
it shall always remain with me.
