Once upon a time
I had everything thing to lose
Things came in black and white
There was nothing to confuse

I mean,

I used to KNOW
And now I don’t
And it’s a simple reason why
And if I figure out the reason
I wouldn’t be forced to lie

I used to CARE
And now I won’t
And no one can change my mind
All my caring has washed away
Tears left no emotion behind

I used to LAUGH
And now I can’t
And nobody can drag it out
Life left a bitter taste
This mouth won’t move from a pout


I used to LOVE
And now I don’t
Now I won’t
Now I can’t
And I don’t know what’s keeping me alive
My heart is dead and still
It’s impossible to survive

So, once upon a time
I knew I loved I laughed I cared
And guess what? Life’s not over yet
I have to admit to myself, I’m scared
