War's Child

Innocent child,
Gun in his hand.
Turns six tommrow.
But, now, must fight like a man.
His birthday will be lonely, sorrowful and forgotten.
His mother is murdered, and his father treats him rotten.

He will not have a party
No cake, no toys
His special day is already unremembered.
Noone cares for such a little boy.

His life brought to a screeching halt by war.
Happy birthday little boy.
You wont have any more.
