Degrading Pain

I lay in bed acting asleep, hearing every scream and shout
Every fierce slap and swing, knocking my emotions about

Slamming of their bodies rattles my mirror and shelf
Tears begen to pour out of me, brought by fear himself

As I stare through the brightly shown crack of my door
Shadows run by along with tears quickly bombing the floor

Hate being served to us all nervoulsy- quickly cup by cup
My body now shaking he's taken over me, I can not get up

Pure silence suddenly ends this raging midnight madness
And now has quietly left us with this heart-aching sadness

Slowly but surly silence brings this fragile love to attention
Slamming of the backdoor ruins this, bringing a horrible recollection

More faint screams are heard as the car skids down the street
And once again, degrading pain has all of our dark hearts beat
