The Game Of Control, From Beginning To End

*Note: I tried to write this poem from the viewpoint of a guy so sorry for
any inaccurate views because, obviously, I'm not a guy

In the beginning
You loved me
I loved you
Simplicity ensued

Days spent
You lying on the floor of my bedroom
A soft smile playing on your lips
Staring up at the blank ceiling

Breathing hot and heavy
Running your long black hair through my fingers
Your sweet lips on mine
Peace of mind knowing you were mine and mine only

Crowded school hallways
Watching you closely
Talking to other boys
Your long hair flowing, eyes filled with desire

You tell me you love me
But do you mean it?
You tell me you want no other
But do you mean it?

At his car
Thin straps of silk cross delicately accross your back
Your bared legs, thin, tan, move with such grace
Your eyes play games as I watch from the shadows

I tell you
No more talking to other boys
No more halter tops or miniskirts
Your laugh rings out thin and delicate, your eyes dance in the sunlight

My hand flies out
Draws a stragiht line across your face
I'm not laughing
Do you think this is a game?

Days spent
You spread across my bedroom floor
There's a new uncertainty in you eyes
You tremble as I come closer

I do it because I love you
Love is not love unless there are obstacles to overcome
My lips draw paths across your neck
I feel skin shiver beneath me

You talk to no other boy but me
You wear jeans and t-shirts
You go nowhere without me
You do nothing without asking me first

I am exultant
I am in control
Now I will never lose you
Our love, tried and true, and you keep coming back

One day
I don't know where you are
I call you phone but you don't answer
Where are you? Do you think this is a game?

You come back
Making up excuses
Lies fall out of your mouth but I don't hear them
You tell me you love me but I don't believe you

My hand flies out
Strikes your smooth, pale cheek
Crimson stains your complexion
Do you love me now?

I push you back
Scream in your face
Tears stream down your cheeks and you turn away
Do you love me now?

Up against a wall
I hit you
Over and over until your face is bruised and swollen
Do you love me now?

Your eyes rimmed
Purple, black and blue
I can't help myself; I can't stop
Do you love me now?

You fall
Tears streaming, eyes pleading, sobbing for me to stop
I press my foot against your throat and push. Hard.
Do you love me now?

In the end.
You lying on the floor on my bedroom
Your blood staining my carpet, screams dying in your crushed throat, gasping
for breath
Slowly dying
But do you love me now?
