Blissful memories of when we were still innocent display a forgotten past,
Broken promises, and unsaid words of things that will never last.
Stolen kisses under a canopy of leaves,
Hiding away in the branches or trees, pretending to be thieves.
Forgotten children, dwelling in a lie,
There's no one there to comfort them even as they cry.
Broken children who only wanted to play,
Become the ones who had to pay.
Beaten children running away,
Trying to keep these forgotten memories at bay.
