Waste Of Breath

It is a cooling motion ...

Like the breath that- once it has left the lips, disperses and fades-
disappearing into the darkness of this night, where it loses all sense of
possession ...

The natural bodily reaction is to shiver ...

Trapped in the eternal, that forever is sense of lingering too long along
these high walls of these old dreams- needing me to exist, and the thought
of just letting them go seems too painful right now ...

I want to be beautiful again ...

Those wings plucked, feather by feather- like the petals of flowers, forever
wishing for something more until all of that becomes still upon that one
last remaining dream left to be pulled ... as the blood pools at my feet,
and I fall ... weakened beyond my resolve to fight ...

It is the easiest route ...

To fall ... somewhere nearer towards the edge of the world and teetering,
clamoring to the crumbling ledge and holding on to what has been made most
dear to me ...

Where every muscle screams ...

For me to just let go, and set myself adrift into this infinity- to
dissipate into the darkness and disappear ...

Like a breath.
