Poet's Journey

I wonder where I shall journey today
As I read your words and am whisked away?
Will it be into the midst of lover’s arms
Or under a moonlit sky with enticing charms

Will I be taken to different places and times
As I am hypnotically lured by muse of rhymes
A desolate valley or blooms aglow
Or the murky depths of a tortured soul?

To a childhood memory that lingers still
Or by the river that flows and life refill
To a far away land that I have dreamt of being
Or a place of famine and children are starving

On a sea front over looking a spectacular view
Or in the home of a broken family issue
A war stricken country where men are dying
Or in a home on his knees where a Dad is praying

So take me to places that only you can
As I read your prose, I am your biggest fan
Let the ink flow while those words bring life
And again I shall feel the poet’s knife
