To cover the silence

I tell myself lies to make everything better
To cover up the truth

Tears like yesterday

Tears of pain
Tears of nothingness
Tears that uncover the truth
Tears that will never subdue

I talk only to hear myself speak
I bleed to know I’m alive
I lie to feel better
But none of this helps
