Along a threadbare landscape,
streetlights dot the view in firefly brilliance,
streaming their soft amber wash
near the shadows, wary of its radiance.

No breath be heard by silence,
just scuffling on the pavement from mortal soles,
lost in today’s memories,
never to notice the hunger, far below.

Nocturne eyes blend with velvet,
draped tenderly o’er a sapphire theatre.
A cloak of comfort for some,
a shade laden nightmare, for the terrestre.

Echoes murmur through the sound
to plait its smoothness within midnight harbors,
buoyant in a subtle wake
on the boundless sea’s divide of sky and moors.

Evanescent fiends pursue
as thirsts intensify for earthly heartbeats,
pumping luscious elixir
through night’s intoxication of desired treats.

Muffle the screams, drowning deep
for in death’s embrace, your soul shall rock-a-bye
swaddled neath loving visions
until the final draught, diminishes life.

Thither with the incubi
shall your constant repose yield to his demands.
A hunger, driven by his attentiveness
and the blood, flowing unbound from human wetlands.
