Girl took a picture of her razorblade
She was very brave
She was very deep.

She had reasons for the soft focus.
She had reasons for the romance.

And

How they flocked to see this picture
And how they all related
To every inch of her experience.

Cause it didn’t look painful
The pain she felt was easy to bear,
Cause it didn’t look traumatic
Or evil
Or dirty
Or lost.

So they said they understood
They said she spoke for them.
No need to hide the truth they muttered
As they hugged her hard.

Specially when the truth they saw
Was ever so Artistic.

And isn’t that the kind of truth
We want with our dinner party conversation?
Discussed in civilised tones
Over wine and cheesecake?
And then we drive our loved ones home
And talk about the day.
The football and the shopping
As the memory slips away,
Of the

Girl who
Took a picture of her razorblade.
