A Fool For Your Affection

Lying on the floor where you left me-
I was a fool for your affection-
I followed you so blindly-
greatly misguided by your direction.

You made me believe you loved me
but that, I found, was not true,
I felt so used and so guilty,
and ashamed, that I had loved you.
To put it all out there -
is a big thing to do -
only to find out that you didnt care-
and that those things you said were " well used."

I gave up so much for you, my heart, my passion!-
it all the more makes me realize-
I was a fool for your affection.
