As I walk
The empty streets
I find myself fleeing
The unyielding truth

Abandoned dreams
Mixed with sweet reminisce
Soak into the street
With the warm harvest rain

Silence cries out
From damp alleys
And vacant sidewalks
Wail for a name

The full moon stands alone
So far from time
Resting in forever
Amongst the stars

Still I walk on
Alone on a path
To nowhere, and everywhere
All at once

Years pass like moments
Thoughts and memories fall victim
To a relentless hourglass
Sifting the sands of midnight hours

Forever the moon stands alone
In a void without worry
A place without sorrow
But not free from the truth

Everything gained
Is lost in the end
Dreams will die, and memories fade
And in the end
It will all have been in vain
