I Would So Much Prefer

I’d give everything, plus eighty-three more
Just for you to replace this stranger sitting next to me
Because its not those unfamiliar eyes that I long to see
I wish for you to be him right now
I wonder if he knows how much of my life he has ruined
Just by picking the wrong seat
He should have let me sit alone.

Riding this bus
Continue on with my day
Even though I wish my days were non-existent
Because you’re not here to share them with
I want you in the worst possible way

I want for my personal space
To be blissfully violated
By none other than you
I want for my skin
To say “hello” your own
It’s getting so cold out here

My breath drifts away
More free than I
These ghastly steel chains
Linking me to dirt
I don’t want to be here anymore

I would so much prefer to be in the clouds with you.
I would so much prefer to be wrapped in sheets with you.
I would so much prefer to be locked in you.

I would so much prefer to be with you.
