Stone Heart

It’s as hard as a rock
And tough as a nail
The beauty is hidden
The softness tucked away
The gold is chipped
And started to blow away.

The touch of a loved one no longer satisfies
The sound of the beat no longer heard
And the blood rushing in turned cold.

Why the wall is up some might ask?
Why can’t it just love back?
It’s hard to say why ivy has started to grow
The envy within still roars.

The heart of a lion no longer soars
But the heart of a shipwreck still flows
It no longer sees bright light
Only long hopeless nights.

Oh, please come down for me tonight
That wall that stands so high
Have hope tonight with me
And let your spirit fly.
