Love hurts

We talked for hours, we had that spark-
We climbed the highest towers until it got dark.
You kissed me and told me how much I meant to you-
and then you left and I found myself confused.
The only thing I ever asked for, was a piece of your heart-
but instead you got mine and ripped it apart.
Well that's how love goes, it's long and it's hard,
now everyone knows, can see that I'm scarred.
I'm not who you want so get it through your head,
or watch me slowly smother, strangled in the words you said.
