“Committing Suicide and Waking Up On The Other Side”
He turns his weary head slowly
and faces his long lost lover
she’s got tears running down her cheeks
and he has got terribly trembling hands
as he holds her so close like they used to do
they both dare not whisper a single word
it hurts too much to speak now
he lets her go despite all his dreams
she walks away despite all her ambitions
love was a goal unattained in the end
he wont be there anymore no
when she is crying and alone
he will not be able to pick up the phone
she wont be where he needs her
no not now that things are over
she will not touch his skin and reassure him
now they are both up the creek
without a paddle to bring them back to shelter
lost without a compass to guide at night
gravity has twisted itself
like she used to twist her skirt
like he used to twist her face into the best kind of smile
now that face is not twisted the way she liked it to be
solemnly she wipes the tears away and stops crying
long enough to write him
long enough to pen out her non-dying love
he reads her morbid words she inscribed for him
her last goodbye and her last sunrise
not long for this fucking cold world
his life flashes before his eyes now drenched in tears
and he gets into his car
fumbling with the sticky ignition as he tries to save her
she is falling so damn fast
he is running as fast as he can now
but all he could give to her wasn’t
wasn’t enough to preserve her no it couldn’t save her
now he is at her door
he raises his heavy hand and knocks twice softly
not risking disturbance while begging entrance
there is no answer from behind the white wooden barrier
slowly turns the knob is his hand
and bursts inside
memories flood his nostrils eyes and his weakened mind
it is enough to bring him to his knees
weeping over her body
lifeless like before she met him and smiled
her face is a little pale and she is not moving
he picks his weary head up from her chest
and now sort of surveys the rest of the room
on wobbly legs he manages to stand and walk a little
heads for the kitchen and he stops inside
finds what he is looking for in a drawer to his left side
and rejoins his love in the living room
sobbing and shaking shivering he pulls up his sleeves
his life flashes for the second time in front of his eyes
this time the corpse at his feet blacks everything out
and he raises the blade to his goose bumped skin
feels that cold piercing sting
and falls next to the girl he loves so much
and he swears it to her with his last breath
that will find her some other time and place
laying breathing shortly life leaving him
closes his eyes one last time and kisses her lips
then takes her hand and lets go of everything he held true
and lets eternal sleep roll over his paling body
she wakes him up at twelve thirty five
they lay embraced in their king bed for a couple days
the sun is forever rising out their window
he wipes her tears away from her big brown eyes
and she holds his hand as he stops trembling
he whispers his undying love
and they drift off to sleep in a place they created
they drift off to sleep in love they created…….
