The night was perfect
for what we went through
The rain was pouring
the clouds were dark blue

The rain represents
the tears that I cried
The clouds represent
knowing that you lied

The coldness was the pain
I felt creep in my heart
when I finally realized
that you and I were to part

The time was to show
that it was too late
to regain what we had
I must accept fate

The lightning shows the memories
running through my head
all the time we've spent together
all the things that we have said

The thunder was the emptiness
I felt rest deep in my soul
I hate that things are your way
you were always in control

Now when the rain is pouring
and the clouds turn dark
I think of you and wonder
why I let you leave your mark.
