Why did you do this?

This is to my friend that died June of 2003, of a drug overdose.

You were a great person to talk to
Even though you did drugs and always
Wanted to do them even in school.
I still considered you as a good friend.
I wanted to see you graduate in 2005
But I can’t now.
You went over to your friend’s house with
Some other people and got some coke.
You just wanted to be cool but it didn’t work.
You thought those guys were your friends,
You were wrong.
They made you over dose on the stuff
And when you went into shock they just
Left you there.
And there was one person that found
You and it was the person that gave you the drugs.
He held you until the ambulance came and the
Cops arrested him because they thought he killed you.
Now he is Juvenal Hall and he is almost out.
I wished I could of talked to you about this but I
Was too late and now you are dead.
In Van Nuys’s 2004-year book it has a dedication
Page just for you and who ever draw it, draw it good.
I wish you were here because it was a fun time with you.

From all yours friends at Van Nuys High,
REST IN PEACE: JENNIFER MELENDEZ
