tomorrow's promise

Ten a.m.
She walks in
and drops down to the floor
All she can think of is that
life isn't fair
but she doesn't care anymore
cuz
people whisper and call her a whore
and she doesn't think anymore

the man at the corner shouts out her name
and she turns with a meaningful stare
she gives him a wink
and drops her dress
and tonite she'll do it again

cuz the food's always cold
and the heat is never on
and all of the pain is a memory
and her parents don't call
and the rent is always late
and tomorrow she'll do it again
