Meet Megan, a perfect child
She excells in school, and follows all of her parents rules.
Comes home by nine, turns in all of her work on time.
This girl has nothing to regret
-from what we can see.

If you looked beyond the plaster smile
Behind her fake grin,
you would hear cries of a tortured soul that lies within.
If you would have found out the real reason for her scars
Wondered why she keeps a blade in her drawer
If only someone cared a little bit more.

From what everyone saw Megan had no flaws.
People wanted her life, if only they knew.
She was dying inside, cracking from the pressure.
All she needed was someone who was concerned, someone there for her.

"Be perfect Megan" she mimicked as she picked up the blade.
She had delt with all the stress too long to be afraid.
She began cutting, deeper and deeper
As her frail arms grew weaker and weaker.
Finally she reached the vein,
and ended her life in misery and pain.
If only someone had cared a little bit more.
