Who waits there?
Quietly for me
Under the stairs.

Does he have a knife?
All shine and insane
Twinkle in the dark

Why do I think these things?
I shrug
Slip on my party dress
And smile at the mirror.

One floor down
The light pops OUT.

Pitch black stops me dead
Go up?
Go down?
Stay stuck in nowhere?

Stay stuck in nowhere.

Footsteps
Breathing

‘Fucking lights’
Laugh don’t panic
I think.

Footsteps
Breathing

Close now.
Can smell him
Old cigarettes
And hair gel.

Just breathing
Close
Now.

Pain.

Bright beautiful my entire world.

Did I say
I love you?
Did I say goodbye in a way that will be remembered?

Fuck this is fast
To die in darkness like this
Is so unfair.

Last words I hear
‘This for you’

Bright beautiful my entire world.

Sleep.
