I hate it how you left me
In this cold and dreary night
The silence dark and eerie
And the coolness isn't right
Breezes softly blowing
Across a bare and slender thigh
Where once soft hands caressed me
But now they've gone without goodbyes
The trees so lightly calling
Fireflies to show the way
As I wander early morning
And my mind is led astray
My feet are softly padding
To the horses, through the hay
As they feel me gently mounting
And I whimper, "Take me away."
We fly beyond the prairies, and the valleys, and the seas
In a race against the sunlight
And a time that's yet to be
As we stand below the mountain, bowing low and gazing high
A wind is blowing feebly
And my heart begins to cry
The clouds, they draw apart, and I see with perfect sight
Your face is framed with shining stars, my Angel in the Sky
