The Kiss

The kiss we shared tonight,
The kiss that was unexpected
The kiss that was our first

The kiss that made me feel grand,
A feeling like no other
My pain, anger, and hate all cried out,
They cried because love had seen them, had found them, had invaded…

Why is it that the first kiss always happens in the middle of a
conversation?
Why is it that the first kiss always happens so suddenly?
Why is it that after that kiss, you truly understand?

All this and many more have been answered tonight
The answer not clear, but there,
The answer that I have to decipher

That kiss made me wonder,
Was this fate, or was this by choice?
Was the kiss I gave you back a healing kiss or a kiss of something else?
Do I comfort you as you do me?

These questions can only be answered by you
These questions and many more can only be answered by you and your love

Your love answers me deepest questions
Your love heals me and makes me feel happy
The kiss you gave me was love…
