TV Sets and Suicide

She stands there watching, hypnotized
The TV stealing her thoughts in
Her brain is rotting, as she's mesmerized
Can't feel herself leaving her skin
Her mind is trapped within a box
Her soul tangled within a set
Can't hear; can't feel; can't think; can't speak
An empty vision makes her forget
She stands there fully damaged
Unable to blink or slightly breathe
Perhaps her life has come to a hiatus
But she remains in front the TV screen
Sometimes reality shows may appear
Better than untelivised real life
She can't help but stand and stare
At the one she loved causing her strife
The rope still swings from side to side
The body only hanging limp
She wants to die; she wants to cry
But she's so numb to any of it
So she stands there staring at the television
A raw static filling the screen
A keen ring that deafens her ears
Like a bleak and piercing scream
An attempted distraction that only fails
as she's falling apart inside
no better way to spend a friday night
than pondering TV sets and suicide
