Gone Without

The stars in the night fade far away,
As the beauty of life is gone in the wind
Sorrow is but a word of death and dismay.
The pains of my heart will not mend.

I cannot release the hope within,
I hold it dear to me as of my own.
I must pay for my dues and my sin;
I am here now alone, all alone.

Lost in the thoughts of my dearest of days,
I wait with tears flowing down my face;
For they will not hold the sorrow and haze
Of my evil doings and of my poor pace.

I cryout in the night for the help of love
To come upon my closed door,
Of life long forgotten and nothing of.
Death is my punishment, I ask no more
