Hope isn't a thing but a picture we make to justify and excuse all the lives
that we take, to make us feel proud of the lies that we make, and we grow to
believe all the stories we fake...
...And It's All A Pretty Illusion

we've been hoping and praying for me for so long that we've gladly
forgotten: the mirages are wrong. and while it makes me feel better just
hearing your song, i’ve pushed aside truths i have known all along...
...We've Made Fairy Tales Our Reality

i know that you're trying. i know that you care, but the weight of your
smiles is a weight i can't bare. you've been pointing out details that just
aren’t there, and there's holes in your stories, they're starting to
tear...
...Don't Promise Me What You Can’t Give

so like surgeons you fix me and make me feel sane, feed me hope like a drug,
try to lessen my strain. and i welcome your tales as silence my pain, but
under so many floorboards, the heart beats the same...
...A Lie Is A Lie, As White As It Is

its getting too hard, holding on to this string. and its getting too hard,
hearing stories you bring. and while im happy to hear all the songs that you
sing, its time that we realise: Hope isn't a thing...
..."A Person Can be Broken By The Weight Of Possibility"
