The rain dances to the earth,
so peaceful, so quiet.
But then the thunder chimes in,
so loud, so violent.
The scenario is all too familiar...
Reminds me of us and how easily
you overpower me.
All you have to do is speak,
and I am lost in this noise.
My voice fades away,
draining into gutters with the rain.
And all that is left is you
and your harsh words.
It's not them that bring the tears
and plant in my mind all of these fears,
But more the situation,
that still remains after all these years.
And then suddenly- the storm ends.
And all seems well again.
Should I soak up this moment-
before another begins?
